Days 91-100
Day 91
The Final Stretch. The first day of the last section. I needed to take them around my area again since I happened to be pretty short on time today, but I'm excited to see what this upcoming section is going to be. I'll be trying to go to new places every day to really make this one the best week. I think in terms of local stuff here, I'm happy that I'm still able to find new stuff to shoot.
Day 92
Went downtown today for some photos, and managed to get some decent ones. Overall it was pretty good, I think there's some decent ones. It was a bit rainy outside so the lighting wasn't super stellar, but I made the most of it.
Day 93
Only 1 week left! I went to the Montreal Biodome and Botanical Gardens today, and ended up with some photos I'm really happy. Since the biodome is all inside, I ended up using either 800 or 1600 ISO for the most part, but that ended up with some really solid film quality to them. The subjects today were phenomenal, and I ended up with what might be some of the favourite shots.
Day 94
I went down to old port and Notre Dame Basilica, and managed to get some pretty solid photos inside the church. I wasn't too sure how well it was going to work since it so dark, but I like the vibe of all of them.
I usually get anxious taking pictures of people in public, so getting the positive sign from the girl in the tour bus was great and honestly made my day.
Day 95
I went to a somewhat new area that's a bit out of the way to get some photos in less touristy spots. The lighting turned out to be really good, so I ended up with some shots that I'm very happy with. Tomorrow I'll try and take some black and white photos, since it's the last week and that'll be probably the last time I do it in this project.
Day 96
I went with some black and white, but stayed pretty close by since I was up way too late the night before and ended up sleeping in. The results still turned out pretty well. Maybe not as impressive as some of the previous days, but that was to be expected. I'll be going back to colour photos, and be travelling more tomorrow since it's the weekend.
Day 97
I biked down De Maisonneuve and ended up a little bit on the outskirts of downtown, and managed to get some real solid photos there. Today's just another day that was pretty solid. I'm not really trying for anything in particular or trying to work on any skills, I'm mostly just going to nice places and enjoying the process of photography for these last days.
Day 98
Today I went out again down at Mont Royale station, and I managed to get a bunch of photos of street graffiti and of people just going about. I really like taking photos in these crowded areas, where nobody really notices you. You can just blend in, and just be apart of the energy and the painting that is this space.
Day 99
I went around some of the areas around here again since it's the last day, and I started by walking around here, so I want this last day for that. I have a way better understanding of the area around me, and Montreal in general through doing this project. Having to go every day makes out really develop a strong sense of place.
Day 100
100 DAYS!! I'm super happy with how this project turned out, I feel like I grew a fair bit as a photographer, but also as a person. Having this set routine of going outside and working for hours everyday really helps your mental so much. This has probably been one of the best things I've done for my own personal growth, it's crazy to see the progress I've made in such a short amount of time. And now there's a fully completed project out in the world made by me, and that's a nice feeling.
