Days 41-50

Day 41

I got more time to focus on getting contrasting colours, and I'm pretty happy with the results of it. I feel like red is probably the easiest to spot out, but overall I think I had some good success today.

I feel like all my photos are starting to look kinda similar, so I'm going to start trying to take some more interesting and weirder directions with it and see what comes about from it.

Day 42

I really like playing around with a slower shutter speed to get a big motion blur effect. Usually i'm using the lowest aperture I can so as to get everything crisp and solid, so it's nice fun to throw that out the window and embrace a blurry world. I'll likely be doing this for a bit

Day 43

I went with getting blurry and motion blurred photos, and most of them are really bad, but that's kind of the point? There's a very narrow margin where the photos can turn out decent and interesting, most of the others are too blurry to see anything or not blurry enough to be a stylistic choice.

I think I got some decent shots, but getting photos I like with this is way harder. Even the good photos today verge between cool and "gives me a headache"

Day 44

I'm starting to get more used to the slow shutter speed, I feel like I'm not really shooting in the best conditions for it though. I think it would work better in indoor environments or places with low light, as opposed to bright sunny days where you need the aperture as high as it'll go and to overexpose it by a fair bit.

I'll do it again tomorrow, and then after than when I find good conditions again I'll retry it every now and again.

Day 45

I broke my toe walking into a doorframe, so today and probably for a little while I'm just walking around nearby to my apartment so I don't get too many steps in. I think they turned out decently well, and it does pose a challenge where I have to really be noticing minor details cause everything has to go the extra mile when I'm only walking like a block or two

Day 46

Still just going with stuff that's very close by, I think this could also be a good opportunity to try going at different times of the day since I won't be going very far or out for very long.

Day 47

I really like the way the blurry /  low shutter speed photos are coming out, it's a great tool to be added to my toolbelt since now I'm able to get photos in conditions that normally I would consider really bad due to the low shutter speed. it works well when it's later in evening since most of the photos when shot at the lowest aperture will turn out to be in the 5-10 shutter speed range, which is perfect for me and the effect I want

Day 48

Kind of a mid day, I didn't have much time between rainstorms, and the lighting was pretty flat, but I got what I got. There's some decent colour contrasting, but that's about it.

Day 49

I had a pretty small amount of time to get photos today since currently has the worst air conditions on the planet (#1 lets goooo) from Quebec forest fires, so I needed to be quick with it today and just focused on getting them done as fast as possible as opposed to any sort of direct plan.

Day 50

HALFWAY DONE!! it's wild going back to the beginning and seeing the types of photos I was taking and the progress I've made. It feels like I've only been doing this for a little while, but I'm already at the halfway point and still have around 5,000 more photos to take
